Getting Started

Onboarding & Setup

How long does it take to set up a society on Gatewyse?

Typically under 24 hours. Our team will help you import your buildings, units, and resident list. Bigger societies (500+ units) may take 2–3 days.

Can I import my existing resident list?

Yes. Send us a CSV or Excel sheet and we'll import everything — names, flats, phone numbers, vehicle details. Or use our self-service bulk uploader.

Do residents need to download the app?

Yes, each resident installs the Gatewyse app to receive visitor notifications and approve entries. They get a one-tap login link via SMS — no password required.

What if our guard isn't tech-savvy?

The Guard interface was designed for guards with no smartphone experience. Big buttons, minimal text, photo-first inputs. Most guards become fluent in under 10 minutes.

Plans & Payments

Is there a free plan?

Yes — the Starter plan is free forever for societies up to 50 units. It includes visitor management, push notifications, notice board, and complaint tracking.

Are there per-resident charges?

Never. One flat fee per society, no matter how many residents.

Do you charge a setup fee?

No. Setup, onboarding, and data import are all included.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel from the admin dashboard. We'll export your data on request and there are no cancellation fees.

Do you provide a GST invoice?

Yes. A GST-compliant tax invoice is generated for every payment automatically.

Security & Privacy

Trust & Safety

Where is my society's data stored?

On Google Cloud servers in the Asia-South region (Mumbai). Data never leaves India unless you explicitly opt in.

Who can see my data?

Only people in your society with the right role. Guards see only their gate's data, residents see only their flat, admins see only their society. Cross-society leaks are architecturally impossible.

Do you sell my data?

No. We never sell, share, or analyse your society's data for advertising or any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What happens if I cancel my plan?

You can export everything as CSV/PDF. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted from our servers per our retention policy.

Is the data encrypted?

Yes — all data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens.

Compatibility

Which devices does Gatewyse support?

Android 8.0 (Oreo) and above, iOS 14 and above. Optimised for low-end devices — works smoothly on phones with 2 GB RAM.

Does Gatewyse work without internet?

The Guard app works offline — entries are queued locally and sync the moment connectivity returns. The Resident app needs internet for real-time notifications.

Is there a desktop / web version?

An admin web console is on the roadmap for late 2026. Today, all admin features are available in the Android & iOS apps.

What languages are supported?

English and Hindi at launch. Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu are coming in 2026.

Do you train our guards and admins?

Yes — every onboarding includes free training sessions for guards, admins, and committee members. We also publish video tutorials in Hindi and English.

What's your average response time?

Under 4 business hours for Starter, under 1 hour for Professional, and instant for Enterprise via the dedicated account manager.
