This Privacy Policy describes how Gatewyse (operated by Apps24 Studio, headquartered at Jagatpura, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India) collects, uses, and protects your data when you use our mobile apps (Android package com.apps24studio.gatewyse and the corresponding iOS app), our website at gatewyse.in, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, phone number, email address, society name, flat/unit number, role (resident, owner, tenant, guard, admin).
- Visitor data (entered by guards or residents): visitor name, phone, photo, vehicle number, purpose of visit, destination flat.
- Society data: building structure, units, residents, staff details, expense entries, billing rules.
- Communications: notice content, complaint descriptions, attached photos.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, time zone, language.
- Usage data: features used, screens visited, action timestamps (for audit trails).
- Push notification tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens for delivering visitor alerts.
- Crash & error reports: stack traces and diagnostics to fix bugs.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver visitor approvals, gate passes, notices, bills and complaint updates in real time.
- To enforce role-based access — ensuring guards see only their gate, residents only their flat, admins only their society.
- To maintain audit logs required for community safety.
- To send transactional emails & push notifications (e.g. payment receipts, visitor alerts).
- To provide customer support and respond to your queries.
- To diagnose, fix and improve the Service.
We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for behavioural profiling.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with:
- Other authorised users in your society — per the role-based access rules of your society.
- Trusted infrastructure providers — Google Cloud (servers), Firebase (push notifications & analytics), Razorpay/Stripe (payments). These providers are bound by data-processing agreements and Indian/EU privacy standards.
- Law enforcement — only when legally compelled and only the minimum necessary information.
5. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored on Google Cloud servers in the Asia-South (Mumbai) region.
- All traffic is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3.
- All data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
- Authentication uses short-lived JWT access tokens with refresh-token rotation.
- Each society's data is logically isolated by
societyId at every API endpoint.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your society uses the Service. If your society cancels, you can request a full data export and we will permanently delete your data within 30 days of cancellation. Audit logs may be retained for an additional 90 days for legal compliance.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Export your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent for any processing at any time.

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Permissions Used by the Mobile App
- Camera — capture visitor photos and scan QR gate passes.
- Notifications — deliver real-time visitor alerts.
- Storage — cache society data for offline access (Guard role).
- Phone — allow guards to call residents when notification approval times out.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email at least 7 days before they take effect.
